Solemn Vespers (Forgiveness Vespers) celebrated on Sunday evening, February 14

Great Lent begins during at the chanting of the Great Prokeimenon at the service of Forgiveness Vespers, celebrated on Sunday evening, February 14. This year St. George will con-celebrate with St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church and St. Raphael of Brooklyn Antiochian Orthodox Church at St. John the Baptist (501 A Ave. NE in Cedar Rapids). The service begins at 6:30pm and will be presided over by His Grace, Bishop DEMETRIUS of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.

Turn not away thy face from thy child, for I am afflicted! Hear me speedily, draw near unto my soul, and deliver me!      (three times)
